Chris was born to Robert and Louise Roy and was a younger brother to Bob and Jennifer. Chris grew up in Saskatoon. He loved to work on his family farm west of Hoey.

Chris attended SIAST in the Agriculture Technician Apprenticeship Program after graduating from high school.

He then moved to Kinistino and began working at Farm World. He worked there for nearly 3 years. Chris was a beloved member of the staff and made many close friends in Kinistino.

Chris loved fishing, hockey, quadding with his buddies and cooking. He always made time to visit with his relatives, co-workers and friends, no matter how busy he was.

Chris was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Chris was a true friend.

We all miss him dearly.

The "Western Canada Montreal Canadiens Fan Club" was formed on February 4, 1988. Over the past 18 years, the Fan Club has accumulated over 10,000 members in eighteen countries including Canada as well as representation in seventeen states in the USA.

This fan club hockey team has participated in over 80 Benefit Games to help communities raise funds for various worthwhile projects or community members in need of assistance. This is done at their own expense and is the team's way of showing support to everyone in Saskatchewan and Western Canada.

In the past 17 years, the Fan Club Hockey team through benefit games such as this one today, has helped in contributing over $500,000 to various communities throughout Western Canada.

Today's Honorary Guest Coach is Mr. Garry Peters who was a member of the 1964 Stanley Cup Champion Montreal Canadiens team and a member of the original Philadelphia Flyers expansion team.

The Canadiens' Fan Club Rec Hockey team will be holding a 50/50 draw during the chili supper to help cover their travel expenses for this game. Please support them!

Honorary Guest Coach; Mr. Garry Peters
Over 200 people took part in an amazing day of hockey, visiting, sharing memories, and food. Thank you to all who organized this very successful event. A special thank you to all of the individuals who supported the event as either a player or spectator. Without your support this event would not have been the success that it was. All proceeds from this event go to support The Chris Roy Memorial Scholarship. Your generosity will allow the memory of Chris to continue on through the Scholarship at Holy Cross High School. Not only will proceeds from this benefit hockey game support Chris' Scholarship, it also brought friends together to visit and play a game that Chris loved. Thank you for your support and friendship.
